Tadelakt
A sculpture of rammed earth, Sulava and her team had finished in Germany. The structure is rammed earth, while the finishing on sitting area is done using Tadelakt. Its a lime composition that originated in Morocco which makes surface smooth and water resistant – at the same time it breathes. Its perfect material for bathroom finish. In Nepal, Ranas had used grounded terracotta to get the same finish (locally called bajra) but its not prevalent as it used to. We are doing experiments with lime, but somehow relative high cost of lime is making its wide scale application bit prohibitive.
